Rapids Report for 8-21-23

 The Rapids Report

August 21st, 2023

Dear STrEaM Families,

We are heading into our first full week of school this week! Our “welcome week” kickoff was amazing, establishing our school culture and building positive relationships and vibes for the school year.

This week we have grade level “decorum” assemblies to start the day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This is part of our year-long emphasis on positive relationships and behavior, in order to strengthen our school culture.

REMEMBER: WE ARE NOT DOING A LATE START MONDAY. SCHOOL STARTS AT 8 AM DAILY.

Drop off and Pick up

Thank you for your patience as we establish our drop off and pick up routines.

  • Please use caution and follow the directions of staff

  • Pull as far forward as possible before stopping. Please do not stop if there is space in front of you to pull forward. Pulling as far forward as possible reduces traffic back-up.

  • Maintain two lanes: inside lane for pick up/drop off, outside lane for passing and exiting.

  • It is unlawful to be on electronic devices while driving in a school zone.

  • Drive slowly in the neighborhood!

This Week at STrEaM:

Monday 8/21:  Full schedule Periods 1-7

Tuesday 8/22:  Block day Advisory & P. 1-4

  • 6th grade Decorum Assembly 8:00

Wednesday 8/23:  Project Day, Early Release 12:00

  • 8th grade Decorum Assembly 8:00

Thursday 8/24:  Block day Advisory & P. 5-8

  • 7th grade Decorum Assembly 8:00

Sasquatch sightings

In the heart of Muldoon Park, nestled amidst the towering trees and bubbling streams, a hidden secret lives—an elusive creature known as the Muldoon Sasquatch. Whispers of its existence has circulated among students at STrEaM Academy for years, casting an enchanting aura of mystery over their outdoor adventures.
This week we had some reported sightings of the legendary Muldoon Sasquatch in the park. Fortunately, we covered Bear and Moose Safety in Welcome Week, so our students are prepared to handle sightings appropriately. We will keep you posted on this phenomenon!
