Dear STrEaM Families,
This Memorial Day, we extend our gratitude and thoughts to those heroes who gave their lives for our country. We hope this finds you all enjoying the long weekend with family, perhaps taking that first camping or fishing trip, embracing the best part of the year in our great State.
SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER! Thank you for another great school year. Year 7 is in the books, and we are eagerly looking forward to adventures in learning year 8!
START TIMES WILL NOT CHANGE FOR STREAM IN 23-24!
For 25-26, when start times change for the district, we will change our start time to 8:30 AM in order to stay aligned with Middle Schools for after school activities.

Summer Camp Opportunities
Next school year, we will have a new elective option: Debate! UAA hosts an excellent Debate Camp in early August for students entering 6-10th grade. Camp is with the UAA Debate Team that manages the middle school debate circuit that the elective will be part of. It would be a great opportunity for students to have fun and get an introduction to debate! Click here for more information.

Meet our new staff
STrEaM is excited to announce our new Assistant Principal, Ms. Rebekah Hayden!
After 7 years, Ms. Gatlin is moving on from STrEaM for new adventures. Ms. Hayden steps in after teaching ELA and Social Studies for us this year. Her prior experience includes building the reset zone and implementing restorative practices at Begich. We are excited for Ms. Hayden to join our leadership team!

The fall lottery is open through July 21st at 5 PM. Parent notifications go out July 28th at 5 PM.

ONLINE REGISTRATION for 23-24 school year
It is time for ONLINE REGISTRATION! All students returning to ANY ASD school must have completed online registration. Our goal is to have 95% of our families complete this process by the first week in June.

23-24 SY intent survey
Parents of current 6th and 7th graders: it is very helpful for planning our schedule and filling seats to know your intent for the coming school year.
Please complete the survey indicating your intent. This is especially important if you are NOT planning to return to STrEaM. This is NOT for 8th graders- we know they will be moving on!

23-24 Battle of the Books
Interested in joining the STrEaM Battle of the Books team next year? All 6-8th grade students can get a head start on the book list by clicking this link to print a booklist, we are using the middle school list so look for the section labeled MS in the right column. Read a few over the summer and come back this fall ready to battle. Stay tuned for more club information.
