Dear STrEaM Families,


This week the calendar turns to August, and a new school year is just around the corner. We are so excited to embark on this journey together for the 8th year at STrEaM Academy! The fall lottery ran and notifications have gone out to all families. Our enrollment is in great shape heading into this school year. 

School schedule

The first day of school is Thursday, August 17th. We will have “welcome week” activities the first two days, and start our regular class schedule on Monday, August 21st. 


Our schedule is NOT CHANGING for the 23-24 school year. School will start at 8:00 AM every day, with early release at 12:00 on Wednesdays and 3:00 every other day of the week. 

PARENT/GUARDIAN STEPS TO COMPLETE

Parents, if you are NOT planning for your child to attend STrEaM this year, please let us know ASAP so we can help facilitate your transition and fill open seats!


ONLINE REGISTRATION MUST BE COMPLETED! All students returning to ANY ASD school must have completed online registration. 

WHO: Students enrolled in any ASD returning to any ASD school 

WHEN: Online registration open in (link) ParentConnect now through August 17, 2023

WHERE: Parent Connect - use your Parent ID Number (PIN) and see link at top

ONLINE ANNUAL STREAM SPECIFIC PERMISSION SLIPS MUST BE COMPLETED!

VOLUNTEER FOR ASD: ANCHORAGE STREAM ACADEMY

To volunteer in any ASD school adults must complete the online application annually. We ask that even if there is only the slimmest possibility you may want to volunteer for even one hour the whole year you go ahead and complete this application now. It does take the district several days to approve volunteers. 

After School Activities

X-C Running

Coach Perkins will start cross country running on Monday, August 21st. Stay tuned for more information and the sign-up form. Students will need current physicals and (link) permission forms complete prior to attending any practice. 

23-24 Battle of the Books

Interested in joining the STrEaM Battle of the Books team next year? All 6-8th grade students can get a head start on the book list by clicking this link to print a booklist, we are using the middle school list so look for the section labeled MS in the right column. Read a few over the summer and come back this fall ready to battle. Stay tuned for more club information.

Welcome to our newest hire Melody McAllister! Mrs. McAllister will teach 7th grade Language Arts and Social Studies this year. We will send out her full staff spotlight when it is complete.

The fall lottery closed July 21st at 5 PM. Parent notifications go out July 28th at 5 PM.
