The Rapids Report

Dear STrEaM Families,
We hope this finds you well, enjoying this amazing Alaskan summer! Our administrative staff is back in the office, preparing for the upcoming school year. This is our first Rapids Report: you can expect these updates weekly, keeping you posted and informed. Reach out to us on email or by phone if you ever have questions or needs. We look forward to serving you this year!
Important Dates

Registration and Enrollment
New to ASD students (or returning after an absence from ASD) must enroll.
EVERY student must register: this is done annually.
If you have not completed online registration for this school year, please do so immediately. Mrs. Biondich has already started sending reminder emails.
Forms and Links
IMPORTANT! Parents, please complete these mandatory forms as soon as possible: Annual STrEaM Forms. For the School Supply List follow this link. Please write your child’s name on outdoor clothing, lunch boxes and water bottles.
Lunch at STrEaM
Weather permitting (the majority of the school year) lunch will be outdoors. Students should bring a cold lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Lunch is at home, on your own on Wednesday after 12:00 early release dismissal (unless students are staying for clubs or study hall).
Please limit hot lunch items, as microwave availability is limited. We ask that students not bring microwavable foods such as cup o’ noodles, popcorn, hot pockets.
School Policies
Everyone who walks through our doors will treat others with dignity and respect.
All ASD policies as outlined in the student handbook apply to our school.
Students may bring personal electronic devices: our policy is “off and away during the day.”
We allow students to wear hats, but ask the hoods be down in the building for safety reasons.
Appropriate and safe conduct is especially important outdoors and off-campus: infractions will result in loss of these privileges.
X-C Running

APC
Charter schools are governed by an “Academic Policy Committee” or APC. STrEaM’s APC meets the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM. The next APC meeting is August 10th at 5:30 PM.
