Dear STrEaM Families,
We’ve entered into testing season! Monday we begin the new State assessment, AK Star. See the testing schedule and full details below. AK STAR includes Reading and Math tests for grades 6, 7, and 8, done on separate days. 8th grade will still take the Science assessment as well. This test is created by NWEA, the same company that produces the MAP test. We expect the test to look and feel similar to MAP, providing familiarity for students. The alignment to MAP enhances our data and decision making. There are great new features and tools for students to use as well.
Please mark Friday, April 22nd on your calendars There is NO SCHOOL that day for STrEaM ONLY, due to the Wayland Baptist spring graduation. It is a professional development day for staff.

AK STAR & Science Testing
STrEaM begins statewide testing for students this week. Students will test in different subjects on different days, see schedule below. Please ensure that your student gets quality sleep on the nights prior to testing and comes to school on time having eaten a healthy breakfast on the day of testing. All testing will begin first thing in the morning. Make up testing for any student who misses a test session will be made up on April 13th.

STrEaM Anchorage 501(c)3
Second Annual Spring Fundraiser
The Stream Anchorage 501(c)(3) will host the second annual online basket auction to support Anchorage STrEaM Academy. The online auction will open on May 2 and close May 13.
• Each advisory class is making a themed basket for the auction.
• Interested volunteers can donate auctionable items which might be incorporated into a larger package, OR choose a theme and build a basket to donate.
• Completed baskets need to be delivered to the front office by April 15. Each basket should include an inventory of the contents to the outside of the basket.
