This week at STrEaM Academy
April 26th, 2021

Dear STrEaM Families,

It is already the last week of April! The sun is shining and we are going outdoors every day at STrEaM. Next week we will already be into May, with Field Day and the end of the school year right around the corner. Let’s FINISH STRONG, STrEaM Academy!

This week we will have our LAST Morning Coffee for the year, Wednesday at 8 AM on Zoom and Youtube. We will have a STrEaM-themed Kahoot and prizes for winners! 

Upcoming Dates of Note: 

The first week of May is Teacher appreciation week. The final deadline for Mastery Assessments is Friday, May 14th. Last day of school and Field Day 5/20.

501c3 BASKET AUCTION 

We are so excited to share the basket auction website is up and ready! The "Engaged Citizen" fundraiser is still open for donations. For every four items a student adds to the Pantry Pack collection, they receive a ticket for THE HIKING BASKET! So keep those food donations coming in until May 14th.

COVID Information:

COVID Vaccines for Youth (Zoom session link)

April 28, 2021: 6-7 pm

This Pop-Up ECHO will discuss the pending authorization of COVID-19 vaccines for youth age 12-15 and what families need to know. This is a Q&A format intended for the general public as well as health care providers. 

Drop Off and Pick Up:

  • Please pull forward as far as possible before stopping and dropping students 
  • Please drive slow and safely on campus and in the neighborhood
  • Keep 2 lanes: drop off on the inside/curb, passing lane on the outside
  • Students walking home must leave campus when dismissed and may not return to campus

Rapids Report 4-5-21

This week at STrEaM Academy

April 5th, 2021

Dear STrEaM Families,

Our return to in-person learning has been outstanding! Thank you to parents, students and our staff for your hard work, cooperation, patience and positivity. 

We continue with PEAKS testing this week: 8th grade on Monday, 7th grade on Tuesday, 6th grade on Thursday. Thank you to our staff and students for putting their best into these necessary assessments. 

The lottery has closed and our 21-22 enrollment is strong. WELCOME new STrEaM students and families!! 

Remember to join us for Morning Coffee every Wednesday at 8 AM on Zoom and Youtube! 

NEXT week, on Friday 4/16 there is NO SCHOOL for STrEaM only. This is a predetermined day in our calendar based on our lease agreement with Wayland Baptist to not have school on their fall and spring graduation dates.

Donations for themed baskets accepted through April 15th. Volunteers, please pick up the items 4/15 to inventory/assemble, and return to the school Monday April 19th for the photographer and auctioneer to prepare.

501(c)(3) Annual Meeting

Wednesday, April 7th at 5:30pm - call the school for the link, if you are interested in attending!

Morning Drop Off:

  • Please pull forward as far as possible before stopping and dropping students
  • Keep 2 lanes: drop off on the inside/curb, passing lane on the outside
  • Please drop off no earlier than 7:45 AM. Doors will open at 7:55 AM. School begins at 8:00 AM
  • Please follow speed limits, drive safely and keep mobile devices off and away (Anchorage Law)

Afternoon Pick Up:

  • Staggered dismissal begins at 12:45. If you want students earlier, call Mrs. Biondich. Students are dismissed for pick up at 1:00 PM
  • Students walking home must leave campus at dismissal and may not return to campus
  • Parents may park if waiting is an option
  • Please follow the cones and traffic pattern for pick up and drop off

Reminders for in-person learning: 

  • Come prepared to go outside every day! 
  • Bring cold or prepackaged snacks only. Snack during outdoor breaks each period
  • No items can be left in the building due to cleaning protocols
  • Bring chromebooks and chargers each day
  • Approved masks are to be worn properly at all times (no buffs, vented masks)
  • ASD is SYMPTOM FREE. Students exhibiting symptoms may not attend
  • Students sent home with symptoms must have a negative test to return
