Dear STrEaM Families,

We've reached the 10th week of school and the beginning of 2nd Quarter. Winter is coming! We have a modified schedule most of the week for student-led conferences, and no school on Friday.

This Week at STrEaM

Monday 10/18: Beginning of Quarter 2
Tuesday 10/19: NO block schedule. Full schedule p. 1-7
Wednesday 10/20:

Early Release 12:00, SLCs 12:30 to 5:00
STrEaM Scouting Day - Students wear your uniforms!
No boxing, Math Lab today (SLCs)
APC Election: fill out ballots when you sign in for SLCs

Thursday 10/21:

Early Release 12:00, SLCs 12:30 to 5:00
Scouting Information Tables during SLC in lobby

Friday 10/22: NO SCHOOL

Student-Led Conferences

Student-Led Conferences this week on Wednesday 10/20 and Thursday 10/21, from

All visitors must wear masks inside the building at all times. This is both ASD and WBU policy.

12:30 PM until 5:00 PM.

We do not schedule conference times: drop in during at your convenience
The intent is for students to present portfolios & take the lead on their learning. This is not a time for in-depth meetings with teachers: they are standing by to answer questions and offer support
You may schedule a meeting with teachers outside of conference times if needed

STrEaM Scouting Day: Wednesday 10/20/21

Scouts are encouraged to wear their uniform and answer questions about their scouting experience. Scout Leadership Adult Volunteers will be on campus during Conferences to answer questions, too!

Chromebook Collection & Update

Any Chromebooks not collected last week need to be turned in, plugged in and on the ASD network overnight to update this week. Please remind your child to bring their Chromebook and charging cable to school every day!

Health & Safety

ASD requires chaperones & volunteers to show proof of vaccination OR to provide negative results from a molecular COVID test within 48 hours from the time of the field trip.
Keep ASD Symptom Free: Stay home & get tested if experiencing ANY symptoms
Masks required indoors, optional outside
All assignments are on Canvas. Quarantined students should also work on iReady & ALEKS for 30-45 minutes per day

Zoom for Absent/Quarantine Students

Ms. Bonertz hosts Zoom sessions for absent/quarantined students on Wednesdays. This is an opportunity for students to check in, ask questions and request support while working on Canvas assignments from home. LINK:

X-C Running

Thank you to Coaches Mozen and Perkins for a great cross country running season! This season was a great success. We are proud of our runners and look forward to growing our team in the future. Congratulations to Reubin Williams, who took 5th place in the District!

Make-Up Picture Day

Make-up Picture Day is Monday, October 25th. Online ordering will reopen; 3-4 weeks after picture day packages, student ID cards & proof sheets for those without orders will arrive. All students photographed receive a Personalized Order Sheet showing their photo and Portrait ID/Access Code to log on & order on MyLifetouch.com. Ordering is available the remainder of the school year.

Remember as it gets colder, we still go outside every day. Students must dress for the weather, staying in is not an option. Walkers and bikers should have reflective tape/gear as it gets darker, and students on wheels MUST wear helmets (Anchorage Municipal Code).
