The Rapids Report
September 27th, 2021
Dear STrEaM Families,
This is the last week of September, and winter has arrived early. We will continue to go outside every day so please be sure students are dressed appropriately! Write names inside winter clothing. October will be a busy month, with the end of first quarter, no school on three consecutive Fridays (10/8, 10/15, 10/22), and Student-Led Conferences. Let's stay focused, stay safe and stay tuned!

All our students have been issued a chromebook and charger, unless they bring a personal device to use. We have no spare Chromebooks to check out when students forget them at home. We need your support:
Please help students remember to bring their chromebooks
Please remind them to plug in and charge chromebooks each night
If students have their own device for school, please make sure they bring it
COVID-19 Protocols & Updates
ASA has a part-time nurse, shared with and based at Highland Academy, to assist in managing COVID reporting and response: Nurse Laura, foster_laura@asdk12.org
ASD requires chaperones & volunteers to show proof of vaccination OR to provide negative results from a molecular COVID test within 48 hours from the time of the field trip.
Keep ASD Symptom Free: Stay home & get tested if experiencing ANY symptoms. Masks are required indoors, optional outside.
Students in quarantine/learning at home: assignments are on Canvas, work on iReady & ALEKS for 30-45 minutes per day. If you are not already a Parent Observer on your child’s Canvas account, follow these steps
Zoom for Absent/Quarantine Students
Ms. Bonertz hosts Zoom sessions for absent/quarantined students on Wednesdays. This is an opportunity for students to check in, ask questions and request support while working on Canvas assignments from home. LINK:
