Would you like to see your student’s Canvas classes?

Parents may see what their student sees on Canvas by registering to become a “Canvas Parent Observer.”  This is a one-time registration; if you did it last year, then you still have the ability to see Canvas classes.  Follow these directions to register.

Quarter 1 Ends Soon

Quarter 1 ends in two weeks, which means PA and MA deadlines are coming soon.  Teachers are helping students finish and polish projects, and students are being encouraged to get caught-up with any missing and/or redo assignments now so they may finish with success.  Here are some questions you could ask your student to support them during the next two weeks…

  • Planner: What did you accomplish today?  What did you write in your planner?  What do you need to do as homework?  When is it due?

  • Homework: What do you need to finish as homework today? What did you write in your planner that you did not finish today at school?

  • Binder: What is on your “in” side of your folder that you need to do or show me?  Are you bringing your binder to school and using it properly?  Planner?  Pencils?

  • Check grades daily on Q: When was the last time you checked your grades on Q?  What work is missing or needs a redo?

  • Check assignments on Canvas: Did you click on each assignment to see if you submitted it?  Did your teacher leave you feedback?  What work is missing or needs a redo?

  • Absences: Did you use Q and Canvas to find out what you missed?  Did you write it in your planner?  Do you need help with remembering to do it?
