Back in Office Letter 7-18-24

STrEaM Back in the Office for 24-25!

July 18th, 2024

Dear STrEaM Families, parents and guardians,

We are very excited to be back in the office, planning and preparing for the 2024-2025 school year! It's a time of anticipation and energy as we gear up for another academic journey together at STrEaM.

A warm welcome to all our new families joining us this year! We are thrilled to have you as part of our school community and look forward to getting to know each of you. You’ll see me outside every day greeting you to start the day, and my office door is always open. I look forward to serving you.

To our returning families, welcome back! Your continued support and engagement in our program mean a great deal to us, and we are excited to embark on another year together. Each year we strive to improve, with your feedback playing an important role in our growth, and we’re excited to take the next step forward with you.

As we dive into this new school year, we are committed to providing a safe and enriching learning environment where every student  thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. At STrEaM, students learn collaboratively through Project-Based Education, experience STEM integrated across the curriculum, and are immersed in our community and the outdoor world. Stay tuned to the Rapids Report each week for updates on upcoming events, TREKS, projects, and opportunities for parent involvement.

This year, our goal is to reduce the use of technology to an appropriate, responsible and necessary level. You’ll see this through our new phone-free school policy, moving away from chromebooks assigned to individual students (back to classroom sets), and a reduction of tech dependence overall. Technology has a powerful place in learning and our world, and also needs to be utilized effectively.

Here's to a fantastic year of growth, learning, and memorable experiences. Thank you for being a part of the STrEaM family as we embark on the 9th year of our unique program.

Outside every day,

Principal Mokelke
